I love it, Christine, i LOVE it! Such a well-written, entertaining, insightful piece, topped with beautiful illustrations (all of them) and your video from the Throne was the best! Although I did shadow work some years back, new (old) ones can pop up again and again when least expected.

Gorgeous card deck, too. I saw it on your website last week (I had a sneaky peek and thought it was a really cool idea!).

Before i forget - thank you for the mention, too.

Yummm, Thank you, Jo. You've lifted my slightly slumpy heart today. And thanks for checking out my deck... the entire collection is nearly here on Substack, for free, Throne videos, warts and all. More to come!

what a brilliant deck! And, yes, Phil Stutz is great isn't he? I loved the documentary about him in Netflix.

Such a wonderful practice! No surprise, the first one out the door today was the Little Girl who carries my immense Book of Shadows. It’s black with gold, a gorgeous, ornate, creepy looking thing that you’d think is too big for her. She just hugs is close to her chest. She almost never speaks but she does occasionally let me read an entry from The Book. That book holds my long-buried memories.

No “new” ones today, but some new perspectives on things I haven’t looked at in awhile. 🌚👻🕸️

I’m loving the perspective of the card cover. If I’m viewing it from within the closet, the silhouette of Me opening the door also looks like a shadow… Thank you for sharing this invitation.

Thank you for sharing with us that facing our shadow isn't just about overcoming fear, but about reclaiming the creative energy we lose when we suppress those darker parts of ourselves. Jung’s idea that the shadow holds untapped potential really resonates with me, especially in those moments when self-doubt creeps in and I feel like running away from it all!

I love the imagery of opening the closet door to greet our shadows—it’s such a brave and compassionate approach. I'll definitely be trying out the Closet Door practice. It's time to make peace with those 'monsters' and let them help light the creative fire instead of dousing it.

I'm all aglow with your lovely comment, Tasha. Well said! And very brave. Will you please let us know how it goes with the Closet Door?

…i think i am becoming shadow obsessed…my shadow is starting to have a shadow…embracing all parts is just the start of wielding our wands and performing the puppet but it is hard…i tell myself i don’t want my ugly bits and then remember that is my ugly bits saying that and then that becomes a bit for some unperformable standup…all this to say thank you shadow…

Your shadow has a shadow, hugging those ugly bits - you're dancing with some Jedi level shadow play, sir! Very worthy of standup, Mr. Foote.
