A 5-minute imagination game to unlock your body's full power
Hey, Brave Creative. Our bodies are wise and strong, so let’s pay attention. Do you, like me, sometimes push your body so hard she bites you in the ass? Or forget to listen to her whispers? Today’s 5-minute practice (below) is for us.
I’m on a family vacation, so my body craves a swim in this lake. Thus, this post is short like a crop top (my midsection is not on display, but my body is so uplifted by Harris/Walz that she’d like to happy dance 💃🏻 through the ‘swing’ states).

May this enliven your relationship to your body’s energy. This video features my ridiculous alter-ego Queen Poopicina sharing the potty-mouth, ‘Holy Sh*t’ 💩 version of the tool (while cleaning our hoarder house - a true sh*tshow). Or follow the steps below.
Energy Gauge: Can I listen to my body’s energy level?
BREATHE deeply for a few moments.
RECALL feeling overworked, overtired, over-hungry, over-saturated by people, food or?
IMAGINE holding a highly sensitive gauge that reads your body’s physical energy.
FEEL its weight, note its size, shape, display.
NOTICE your current reading, somewhere from empty to full. “My energy level is...”
TUNE IN: “Right now, my body needs...”
REFLECT when you’re done, “I feel...and will...”
Creative Prompts to Monitor Your Energy Levels
EXPLORE: Note times during the day when using the Energy Gauge would be very helpful.
CREATE: Draw, sing or move to demonstrate how your energy level feels now.
MANIFEST: Use your Energy Gauge 3 times a day for a week. Notice what fills your tank and what drains you. Give your body what it needs to rest or refuel.
🗣️ Your turn: How does your body respond to…
Food? What does your body (not your tastebuds) need most now?
Olympics? What event made you wonder, “what if I tried/did/could do that?”
Got any habits that harm your body? e.g. I tend to sway my back (hyperextend). My partner stubs at least one of his toes daily.

...i've never been more inspired by anyone than by watching the memed and mocked Raygun perform breakdancing at the olympics...the bravery to do an art she truly wasn't skilled at, on the olympic stage no less, was a breathtaking piece of artistic amazement...i am forever thankful for that...i sometimes sleep on the couch and crunch my neck...not a great habit...and as for food...i always need water...mmmm....water...
