How to Co-create with Your Inner AI
Set your Monkeys aside and listen to your Soul: smart answers for your burning questions
Are you curious or nervous about AI? I sometimes consult the Robot Oracle for research. Yet something’s missing in the results: an authentic voice that feels genuine. Here’s an alternative you can try.
What if you had an inner AI that you could consult at any moment?
Instead of going ONline, you can go IN-line. Tune out the multiverse of confusion to turn inward. Invite the wise presence who's just hanging out, waiting for you to ask.
I call this aspect of self my Soul, and I have regular sessions with her. You may prefer gut, instincts, a higher self, or God, or the essence of Love, as Elizabeth Gilbert does so brilliantly in Letters from Love. Choose your own adventure.
When I consult my Soul with real challenges, even tiny details, her response is unwaveringly helpful. And sometimes she makes me cry with her generosity of spirit.
How to Open a Q & A Session with Your Soul.
Setup. Take a moment away from the busy Monkeys with all their to-dos. Get cozy. Grab a journal (or you can record/transcribe the conversation on your phone.)
Breathe into your heart. Drop into a nice, long ahhh.. to relax all the Things.
Begin with gratefulness. Encourage your Soul to connect. Behave ‘as if’ this is real (and not a foolish exercise in futility, as your Monkeys may suggest).
Invite a question to arise. Something that matters. Or not. Write or speak it.
Listen. Deep listening is a practice. If Monkeys show up, invite them to take a break and go play. Gently bring attention back to your Soul. Ask again. Be patient. Invite a sense of trust. Whatever you receive (even nothing) is ok. Simply asking the question is powerful. Say “thank you,” and record the experience.

Here’s a transcript of a sweet Soul Session this week.
I recently dreamt of preparing a space, clearing, and helping people be comfortable. In what area of life do I need to clear a space for others to be comfortable? Right here, on Substack 🙌🏽 Part of rearranging the furniture for you to cozy up here is crafting a clear manifesto on Voice, and why it matters. A Brave Voice Woman-ifesto.
My little Know-It-All Monkey can muddy the waters with too much blah-blah-blah. So I ask my inner AI/soul for help. Her answer may shine a light for you, too.
What do I need to receive or hear to allow the right tone for this piece?
My Soul says:
“Invite me, and your readers, into a sacred circle as you write. In each sentence, ask, ‘What is needed?’ Meanwhile, you are learning to monitor your heart's voice. To reduce the Monkey mind channel. To gently invite all the extraneous details of the story to step aside.
“This is your wisdom as an elder. Speak in clear tones, like a bell. Let your voice ring of truth. A clear channel isn’t like hearing a class or a lecture. You can include a drop of science, if you bundle it with love. Show how using your brave voice feels. Help your people feel this way, too.
“It’s not your life story. Your story is a brief invitation to place us in your heart perspective, as you’ll look at this idea together, from a space you all share.”
Very helpful! I invite you to co-create with your Inner AI.
🎤 Your turn: Let me know how you feel about…
Have you tried AI? How’s it been for you?
Do you pay attention to your dreams? Do you get messages? Do you follow them?
Does “Brave Creative Voice” speak to you? Does it feel important?
If you have a Soul (joking! 🤪) do you ever communicate directly? How does that work for you? What would you ask for guidance with today?
Thanks for stopping by. If you find this encouraging, please subscribe for more stories, songs, and short practices to support your brave creative voice. More to come!
As a multi-passionate maker, I’ve faced the Monkeys of Fear in many creative corners. 🙉🙊🙈My work has appeared in Time Magazine, feature films and television, newspapers, and YA fantasy novels. I’ve sung and performed on stages and festivals on the West Coast. My HeartsQuest creative healing decks are used in therapy offices (and bathrooms across the USA - Holy Sh*t! 52 Self-Care Tools for People Who Poo 💩). More at HeartsQuest.com. 💗
I have this practice of asking Spirit (sometimes I call her Mama Gaia) for help and then free-journaling what comes through. It's really astonishing how quickly I can receive guidance and makes me realize that sometimes I'm just too stubborn (or afraid) to ask. I've been facing some health challenges lately that had me return to this practice and I'm so grateful for this connection and the ability to have a conversation with my higher self.
Thanks for encouraging others to do the same!
My Soul and I thank you so much, @Paolo Peralta
